Oh my god oh my god oh my god
Firstly... If you have been re-directed from my blog or Jenfer's blog - Hello, Good Evening and Welcome in a David Frost Stylee! You are officially in our good books! Anyway... on with the post!
BREATHE.....BREATHE.....
I've just booked a band for a gig in August. A proper band. Not a tin-pot twosome, or a little bunch of bedroom-boys, like the Evil Sheep* were. No no no! These are a real lot! And now I'm losing it because I've never organised a gig before.
AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!.
If anyone out there knows how to organise a gig, can you please email me? Or at least reccomend some non-prescription drugs for stopping freak-outs?
*The Evil Sheep were the pinnacle of success in Covers Bands in the Oxford area from the period between 1997 and 2001. If you don't remember us, that's not really surprising because we only played about 4 gigs. If you want to know why we were called The Evil Sheep, email me, as these reasons are not about to become clear anywhere on here - it's too embarrassing.

Kate...mate...chill!
organising a gig should be a doddle for you...what with all you evil sheep experience and that, but if you need a hand, give me a shout and i'll see if i can help in any way/shape/form although i'm sure you'll put on a grand show!
as for drugs...kalms can be good, not my drug of choice, but then vodka's not really a drug is it?
back to the gig thing though, get the bands, the venue and the sound equipment and that should sort itself, then you just need to promote it...do it online, through music mags eg nme and the like depending on your target audience, it's be pointless to advertise in kerrang if it's going to be a welsh male voice choir! do it local as well as not so local! sing it loud and sing it proud!
if there's anything i can do give me a shout, i've got a week now before i head to germany with nothing planned or booked in so feel to get me to do some monkey work if needed
Pete
Thanks mate - we really appreciate that. I think the biggest problem will be promotion, because all the organising stuff is pretty easy to do from here, but I can't get to OX to promote it. Don't suppose you've got any mates in the Uni? Also, it won't be for a while yet... more like August time, so I'll let you know!
